As a service to other Michigan Courts, the Midland County Juvenile Care Center sets aside beds for out-county use. If your Court is in need of secure detention, the Midland County Juvenile Care Center is ready to assist you.

After years of combined effort, construction of the $3.1 million Midland County Juvenile Care Center began in July of 1996. In September of 1997 construction was completed and the Center became fully operational accepting it first youth.


The Midland County Juvenile Care Center was the first facility in the State of Michigan consisting of both an on-site day treatment program and a detention facility for juveniles. The facility is equipped with classrooms, courtroom, secured sally port, medical room, indoor and outdoor recreation areas, dining room, computer lab, twenty-bed secure detention unit, commercial kitchen, day treatment wing and administrative office area.

The Juvenile Care Center was the recipient of an Award of Construction Excellence at the 9th Annual Associated Builders and Contractors Conference. We take great pride in our building and work hard at keeping it looking and running its best while providing a safe environment for youth.
