Onsite Septic Systems


In areas where municipal sewer services are not available, homeowners must rely on sewage (septic) systems to meet their needs. Soil tests are made to determine if the soil conditions can accept and treat waste water. In fact, more than 1.2 million Michigan homes have onsite sewage systems.

Both instructions and the applications are available below. Please note that you cannot apply for well and septic permits online. You need to print the paper application and submit it to our office.
